The Hancock County Art Hop was a big success. I met many new readers and sold more copies of my books than I expected.
Being back in my old stomping grounds was such a delight. My table was set up in the Millsop Community Center, where I spent a chunk of my childhood at all-nighters hosted by the school or in dance recitals that went on for way too long. (Just ask my family members.)

The best part? I sat next to my brother, Dr. Louis Martin, who was selling his book, Smokestacks in the Hills: Rural-Industrial Workers in West Virginia. Basically, I got to hang out with him all day, which is a rare treat.
I also met other local artists and authors. So much talent in Hancock County!
I hope I’m invited back.
