I'm writing a new detective series that I'm publishing on Amazon's Vella platform called The Case of the Strangled Student. Before we get into the technical stuff, some background. I love thrillers and detective novels. When I set out to write Roadside Homicide, I thought I was writing something gritty. Turns out, not so much. đ Now that I have some experience, I wanted to write something a little more hardboiled. Enter Vella It's the perfect platform for my detective series because I can release "episodes" on a regular schedule, much like old-fashioned radio shows were played weekly. Excerpt At lunchtime, Robin took a break from unpacking to eat and check her emails. She didnât expect to find new leads during the holiday season when companies focus on cashing in on Christmas shopping. Companies didnât care about the number of website visitors until sales slumped in the first quarter of the new year. She could practically hear the tumbleweeds blowing through her email inbox. Her momâs stuffed shells were heavenly, of course, but heating them up in the microwave proved to be problematic. Pushing the GO button not only made the microwave whir to life, but also zapped the ancient wiring in the farmhouse, causing the lights to flicker. Another item for the âto-fixâ list.
