Curating content helps you establish authority in your industry. To share the right content to establish authority, you need to know two things:
- You need to know your audience. What are their pain points? What’s bothering them? what’s causing them trouble? what’s keeping them up at night?
- You also need to know enough about your industry to know how best to solve their problems.
Share content that’s going to solve their problems.
Balance Your Promotions
By sharing other people’s content — blog posts, articles, infographics, quotes, whatever — you are balancing out your own promotional content. After sharing content that’s helped them save time, save money, build their business, get leads, you’ll have authority and you’ll have their attention. That way, when you’re ready to promote something, they’re ready to buy. They’ve been listening and you haven’t overwhelmed them.
Just make sure that, when you share someone else’s content, you explain why you’re sharing that content. Tell them how it’s going to help them or why you think it’s valuable information they need to know.
